International Special Students (ISS) Admissions

Welcome, Prospective International Special Students!
 
Thank you for your interest in Gallaudet University! The International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) team welcomes future Gallaudet students from all cultures and backgrounds. ISSS does not manage admissions for English Language Institute (ELI), Undergraduate and Graduate applicants. The ISSS staff works with international students and scholars who have already been accepted and those already enrolled at Gallaudet.  

International Special Students (ISS)
 
The International Special Student (ISS) program is designed to meet the individual needs of students from outside the U.S. at the undergraduate or graduate levels by allowing them to take credit or non-credit courses for up to one year. Although this is a non-degree program, it is a viable option for students to prepare for entering a college degree program. 
 
Gallaudet University invites you to take advantage of a one- or two-semester, once-in-a-lifetime experience. Come have a taste of Gallaudet!
 
  1. Diversity and Inclusion. Gallaudet University allows International Special Students to interact with people from different countries and understand different cultures.
  2. Academic Flexibility. Gallaudet University offers academic flexibility and allows International Special Students to take different courses that enhance their ability to influence and improve the lifestyles of Deaf people in their home countries.
  3. Resources. Gallaudet University offers International Special Students resources like our library and research centers for hands-on experiences.
  4. Come experience Washington, D.C. A vibrant city. Gallaudet University offers International Special Students opportunities to immerse in U.S. culture and experience the excitement of the nation’s capital.
  5. Affordability: One or two semesters of fees as an International Special Student. For this opportunity, you only need tuition and living expenses for one or two semesters.
